Sorry, but I just can't relate to a rich kid complaining that he got into Yale but not Harvard. Truly, this book is nothing but very short clips of different events in his life. For example, he talks about how he worked on a boat one summer in college. Never does he explain how this relates to anything else in his life, not even chronological order.I got about half way in and did not learn a single thing. Time is too valuable to read something that is not interesting and not educational. I struggle to see how the "adventures" of the book can help one succeed in their own lives and business. I fully admire the recount of some of the more interesting deals and a little recount of his childhood memories but the lessons of "What it takes" to succeed was severely lacking. In fact, two things really concerned me. He recounts stories from many, many years ago with quotes, massive quotes, of the parties involved. How does he really remember exactly what partners said 20+ years ago? I was looking for "what it takes" in the quotes and all that did was raise my spidey sense as to the validity. Another one, the "lessons in the pursuit of excellence" can be summed up in hiring well and many general tips. That's fine but hardly groundbreaking or probably the reason he is worth many billions of dollars. All in all, time is precious, this one might be one you buy when it's discounted and you have extra time.
